This Time Last Year

Today is a really special day, not just for me, but for both me and Todd because it's our nine year anniversary.  Nine years!  I just realized how crazy that sounds!  And what's even more crazy slash special is that this may be the last year that we celebrate this day, the day we first started dating, because next year we may hopefully have a new one to celebrate, our wedding (fingers crossed if we can ever make some decisions around here).

As I'm sitting here, I can't help but think back to where we were this time last year, and I'm thinking it's because Todd loves to remind me all the time. And since he is my faithful reader I figured what better day to bring him back down memory lane than today.

Exactly one year ago today, love.....

We arrived in New York City because you booked us a surprise anniversary trip.  The surprise was given away a little early, um like August, because you were just too excited and you couldn't hold it in any longer (I know you would have told me in July if I had of let you).

You had flowers waiting for me at the hotel and, by the end of our trip, our room looked like Botanical Gardens.
You ate so much pizza that I had to stop counting how many slices you had consumed.
We were amazed by Times Square and ended up staying there for hours just being mesmorized by all the people and lights.
You found your favourite restaurant, Del Frisco's, and still get sad when you see their notifications in your email.

We drank wayyyyy too much one night.
Which resulted in you wanting to take a little nap by the fountain (BEFORE YOU FELL IN!).
You also had the genius idea of riding a subway late at night which resulted in us getting lost in Queens.
You had to stop at every vendor and sample every street meat that was available.
You never complained about me shopping.
Which was a good thing because you went home with more shopping bags than me.
You discovered that Broadway musicals are not what you thought and are actually pretty amazing.
You ended up having to soak your feet in the tub one night from getting lost trying to find that damn bull.
Gerard Butler walked right past you on our last day.

And there was no way you were leaving until you perfected how to hail a cab. Check!

So, now that I have your attention, Happy Anniversary my love!
Now, let's get planning so we can be Mr. and Mrs. this time next year!
