I May Be A Slacker, But I Finished The #1800MinuteChallenge

Okay, so I'm sure a lot of you know by now what the #1800MinuteChallenge is all about, but just in case you don't, it was a challenge created by Erin where you aim to complete 1800 minutes of physical activity from April 1st- May 31st. Simple as that. Or so I had originally thought.

Well, yesterday, on May 30th, with just one day to spare, I finally reached my total for the #1800MinuteChallenge and, I must say, it feels pretty darn good to see that number up there because there were quite a few times over the last few weeks that I honestly questioned whether or not I was actually going to be able to finish it.

It's funny because this challenge was approached pretty much the same way I tackle the majority of other things in my life; with a lot of procrastination. As always, the big slacker in me thought it would be fun to see just how far I could push everything to the last minute, because with only three weeks left to the challenge, I had almost 1100 minutes left to complete. But, just like with those other things I try and do, I always pick it up a notch and work as hard as I can when I know it is desperately needed. I hate giving up on things I set out to do. Yeah, I know mom, I could make things so much easier on myself by not always procrastinating, but really, what would be the fun in all of that?

Here's a small glimpse into the last two months:
If you look closely, you'll see one picture that shows the beach and another that shows snow. Obviously the beach one was taken while running on our trip in Florida but unfortunately, the snow was here in Newfoundland during the beginning  of April. Gross, I know.

For those of you who wanted to sign up for this challenge but didn't get a chance, Erin is starting a #1000in30 challenge for the month of June, so hop on over right now and join. This was such a great challenge and, believe it or not coming from this slacker, such a great way to find some balance when it comes to exercising. Too busy one day to find the time to get outside? No problem, just do some extra time the next day....or, if you're anything like me, a lot of extra time the next week!!!!

Oh, I'm not sure if you remember or not, but me and Todd decided to turn this challenge into a competition between us to see who could reach the most minutes. Although we finished with a tie, for the majority of the challenge Todd was in the lead. I wasn't proud about this so obviously I had to do a few hikes on my own to redeem myself! Mission accomplished! ;)
