It's June?/ Five On Friday

ONE//
It's so hard to believe that we're almost into the second week of June. June? I'm pretty sure that for those of us who live in Newfoundland, we actually don't believe it because the weather is making it next to impossible for us to do so. A few days ago I heard on the radio that the average temperature here for the month of May was approximately 4.3 degrees Celsius which, if my converter did that right, is about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I know, my jaw dropped too. After such a long winter, and a spring that doesn't seem to be cooperating, it makes me wonder if summer is even going to make an appearance at all this year.

TWO//
Seven and a half months later, I finally decided it was time to put some scissors and colour to my hair. Overall, I'm a little lighter, but  some darker pieces were added for a bit more dimension. Needless to say, it was desperately needed and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I especially loved how she styled it so I am going to try (key word: try) to start blow drying my hair with a round brush and see what I can come up with all on my own. I usually straighten or curl it, but somewhere in the middle like this would be nice too.

Thanks to the lighting and my crappy camera, this isn't the true colour, but you get the idea!

THREE//
My friend texted me last night and told me a Sephora is opening here in August. Halle-freakin-lujah!!! Then we had a little discussion about how when that time comes, we're going to have to straight jacket ourselves (and our visa's) for some good ole fashioned damage control. #lookout

FOUR//
You know those million and one nail polishes you have lying around that are never used because you keep buying shiny new ones that you swear are completely different from the colours you already have? Well, I've been trying to bring some of them out of hibernation lately, and I am so glad I found Essie's Lapiz of Luxury in the mix because it's a favourite of mine right now. I love opaque and creamy colours and this blue/lilac/grey (I'm sure there's an actual word for that) colour is perfect.

Woah...close up! It looks better without the magnifying view, I promise!

FIVE//
I signed up for Erin's next challenge for the month of June, #1000in30, and I'm hoping not to be such a procrastinator with this one as I was with the #1800MinuteChallenge. Every day that it isn't raining, I'm trying to get outside for a run, even if it's as short as a twenty minute one. I am not stepping foot inside a gym for a while, so c'mmoonn nice weather!!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend, everyone!

Is anyone else excited about the new season of Orange is the New Black that's out today?

  1. That looks like such a pretty essie color! Every time I say I'm not buying anymore Essie people post gorgeous colors and I want them all! haha I love your new haircut- it's always so tricky to replicate what the hairdresser did, but I bet with a few trials and error you can figure it out :)

  2. Okay sooo I think I need to move to Newfoundland ASAP? I felt like I was dying when the temps started getting into the 70s last month, so 40 degrees in May does not sound like a problem to me, haha.
Your hair looks great and you are SO pretty! If I could be granted just one wish, I think it would be for my hair to always look like it does when my stylist does it!

  3. Your hair looks AMAZING! I'm at the point where I need to do something with my hair. Everyone keeps complimenting my ombre...and I'm just like "really, I just haven't highlighted anything in about a year.....".

  5. 40 degrees for May?! Yuck!! Hope you get some warm weather soon.

Loving the hair cut, color & style!!! Looks good. But the before picture your hair still looks super healthy. If I went 7.5 months without a cut or color I would not be photographed!

  8. Ok seriously...that hair is model hair. GORGEOUS! I bet you could do it with a big curling iron if the round brush is too hard. I can't seem to EVER get the hang of it.

    So gorgeous!
