Another Reintroduction

After looking through my blog daily over the last month or so and thinking about how much I miss coming here, I realized it was time. Time to come back, time to start, once again! I've had more blogging hiatuses than I can count at this point, but here I am again....almost 5 years later.

Wow, 5 years? Isn't it so strange looking back at different periods of your life? Sometimes it feels like no time has passed at all, while other times it feels like everything is completely different. Right now, I'm feeling the latter. The last few years have been a whirlwind for me - I've experienced some of my highest highs and my lowest of lows. While there's a lot that I could say right now, I'm just really, really anxious to get this thing going again. So, hi there! Hello!!!

My first priority around here is to get a few things crossed off the outdated blogging list, starting with finishing those darn wedding posts I promised myself I would do the last time I came back after a hiatus. I got close, really close, but just not close enough. *Hangs head in shame*.

I always wanted to document our wedding and honeymoon, but I'm even more determined to do so after losing almost all of my iPhone pictures during that period of time (gosh, even just typing that hits hard). Photos are my sacred thing - they're probably the most important material thing I own, so you can imagine how devastated I was when pictures of the most special time of my life got wiped in seconds. Poof, just gone!

While I want to look ahead with this blog, my plan is to also recap some bigger/special moments that have happened over the last few years that I want documented- travel experiences, life changes, DIY adventures, etc. So I'm hoping to throw some of those posts in too!

But before I get to any of that, I think another introduction is necessary. Let's call it a re-reintroduction, shall we? I like to think of it as a fresh way to get this blogging thing going again.

THE RE-REINTRODUCTION

->> My name is Renee. Glad I started with an easy one there!!  I'm from Newfoundland, Canada. While it's absolutely beautiful in the summer, our other seasons sure can be a little rough. Actually, our weather at any time of the year can be a little whole lot unpredictable, but when you get those beautiful days in the summer, visiting Newfoundland will be totally worth it though. Promise. The rugged landscape and charm (and people, might I add) will have you wanting to return in no time.

->> I have a Science degree from University, but yet I work as a Cost Controller. You could say it's been a very twisty turny road from then until now. It started with some random jobs, some CPA courses thrown in, lots of learning and on the job training along the way, and here I am. While I like what I do, if I were to pick a dream job it would probably be something in decorating/design or photography or owing my own little clothing or boutique store.

->> I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Todd. Does it count as being high school sweethearts when you date, break up, and date other people multiple times in high school before getting back together in University? Maybe now I'll just call him my forever sweetheart! I like that term better, anyways. If there's one thing I've done right in this life is marry that man!

->> We have a 10-year-old English Springer Spaniel named Charley (Girly as her go-to name, or Charlotte or Charles when we're mad at her), who we love and adore and who completely rules our house, might I add. We have a king sized bed but yet we complain about having no sleep because our 60 pound dog likes to do a gymnastics routine during the middle of every night.

My loves: Todd & Charley

->> Some of my loves - coffee, breakfast dates, shopping, makeup, taking pictures, organizing and decorating (although both stress me out like no other!), chips and chocolate chip cookies, travelling, planting flowers and watching them (hopefully) thrive, running, reading good quotes, great conversations with friends, beautiful sunsets, playing board games, and being around people with good positive energy. Oh, and let's not forget a good binge on an amazing tv show.

->> Some of my dislikes - cold coffee (haha), getting up for work, celery, liars, people who take themselves too seriously or who are unkind to others, getting in an unmade bed, but also having to make that bed, and having to take makeup off at the end of the day...ugh, that one is the worst!

-> I originally started blogging back in 2013 for fun after being consumed by reading other peoples blogs. Ahh, I still remember those days from 2011 to 2013 so clearly. Every Saturday morning I'd go to Tim Hortons, get a large coffee, and I'd be so excited to come home and start in on all of the blog reading. I was completely hooked! I loved reading about other peoples lives and getting a lot of general lifestyle and fashion inspiration from other bloggers. You have no idea how many purchases I made because of bloggers! I mean, does anyone remember the J Crew bobble necklace phase? While Instagram and Tik Tok are all the rage now (how much did those words just age me?!), I really miss getting online, sitting down and reading what people had to say. It was simple, but there was something so nice about it.

It took forever to find this picture! #worthit

->> I think travelling has to be my all time favourite thing to do in life. While I've been fortunate that I've seen some amazing places, my bucket list is still longer than Santas naughty or nice list.

->> Some would call me sensitive (okay, most would probably say that), but I like to call myself a super-feeler (a term my therapist once threw out. Sounds much better, doesn't it?). I'm also pretty indecisive, but mostly on the small stuff though. I'm able to make decisions on a car or a trip or a home in like one second. I'm a Type A, 1/4 extrovert and 3/4 introvert (obviously my Type A self had to give those percentages), and I'd do anything in the world for those I care about.

->> I feel like I have no hobbies. Like none. But, I do like to keep myself busy, whether that's by running, walking miss Charley, playing tennis, hanging out with friends, cleaning (even though many days you'd never say it!!), reading books, watching Friends or How I met Your Mother over and over and over, listening to podcasts, or scrolling on my phone.

->> I'm wanting to start blogging again because I really miss it and need a fun hobby!  After all these years, I still love writing, I still love taking pictures and sharing experiences and reviews and everything in between and, truthfully, I'm hoping it will spark some joy into my life again.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know a little about me. Now that I got that out of the way, let the fun begin!

Until next time...because I will be back!!
